Privacy Policy

This policy applies to ChoreHero (“ChoreHero”), including our mobile application, the website at chorehero.codequarry.ai, and related account, support, and billing services. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.

ChoreHero accounts are for adults who are parents or legal guardians. Children do not create accounts. An adult account holder may create and manage a private child profile and may allow a child to interact with ChoreHero only on the adult’s signed-in device and under the adult’s supervision.

By creating a child profile, the account holder confirms that they are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise legally authorized to provide the child’s information, and consents to our collection, use, and disclosure of that information as described in this policy. A parent or guardian may review, correct, or delete a child’s information, or withdraw permission for further collection, as described in Section 9.

We collect the following categories of information, depending on how ChoreHero is used:

• Adult account information. Email address, display name, authentication identifiers, sign-in activity, and account settings. Authentication credentials are handled by our authentication service provider.
• Household and child-profile information. Household name and membership; a child’s display name or nickname; optional avatar, profile photograph, and gender selection; and other profile details supplied by the parent or guardian. A child’s legal name or photograph is not required to use ChoreHero.
• Chore and reward activity. Chores, assignments, due dates, completion and approval history, points, rewards, redemptions, and related household progress.
• Photos and device permissions. If an adult chooses to upload an image, the app requests access to the camera or photo library and receives only the image the user captures or selects. We do not collect the rest of the photo library.
• Subscription and transaction information. Plan, subscription status, billing dates, transaction identifiers, and limited payment details returned by our payment processor. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
• Communications. Messages and information provided when contacting us for support, privacy requests, or other inquiries.
• Technical and usage information. IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, timestamps, pages or features used, and diagnostic, security, and error logs.
• Cookies and local storage. The website uses essential browser storage for authentication, security, and remembering cookie choices. Optional analytics storage is disabled unless permitted through our cookie controls. Payment providers may use essential cookies when a user opens a billing flow.

We use personal information to:

• Provide and personalize accounts, households, child profiles, chores, points, and rewards.
• Authenticate users, protect accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain service reliability.
• Process subscriptions, maintain transaction records, and provide billing and customer support.
• Communicate about the service, including important administrative or policy notices.
• Understand feature use, troubleshoot problems, and improve ChoreHero.
• Comply with law, enforce our Terms and Conditions, and protect users, Code Quarry, and others.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, or use it to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. ChoreHero does not display third-party advertising.

We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary:

• Within the household. Adult account holders can see household profiles and activity. Children may see information made available on the adult’s device.
• To service providers. Vendors process information on our behalf for hosting, storage, authentication, security, customer support, and payment processing. They may use the information only to provide services to us or as otherwise permitted by law.
• For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect rights, safety, and security; investigate fraud or abuse; or enforce our agreements.
• In a business transaction. Information may be disclosed as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections where required.
• At your direction. We may disclose information when an adult account holder asks us to or otherwise provides consent.

Child profiles and household activity are not made public through ChoreHero.

ChoreHero is designed for parents and guardians to manage family chores and rewards. We do not knowingly permit a child to register, provide an email address, make purchases, communicate with strangers, or publish information. We ask adults to use a nickname and a built-in avatar rather than a child’s legal name or photo whenever practical and never to enter a child’s address, contact information, school, or other unnecessary sensitive details.

We collect child-profile and activity information to provide the household features requested by the parent or guardian. We do not use a child’s information for advertising or commercial profiling, and we disclose it only as described in Section 5. We retain it only as described in Section 7.

An authenticated adult account holder may ask to review, correct, export, or delete a child’s information, or may refuse further collection or use, by contacting us at the address in Section 12. Withdrawing permission may require deletion of the child profile or limit the features available to the household.

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide ChoreHero and for the purposes described in this policy. Closing an account initiates deletion of the account and associated household data within 30 days. A parent or guardian may also request deletion of an individual child profile.

We may retain limited information when required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Information may remain for a limited period in protected backups and will be deleted through our normal backup-retention cycle. We may retain information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably identify an individual.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. ChoreHero and its service providers may process and store information in the United States. If information is transferred across national borders, it may be subject to the laws of the destination country.

Subject to applicable law, an adult account holder may request access to, correction of, a portable copy of, or deletion of personal information associated with the adult or their child; withdraw consent; or object to or restrict certain processing. Household and profile information can also be updated through available app controls. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.

Submit a request to info@codequarry.ai. Please describe the request and the relevant account or child profile. We may ask for information needed to verify identity, authority over the account, and parental or guardian status. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification.

If we deny a privacy request, the requester may appeal by emailing the same address with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. We will review and respond as required by applicable law. Canadian residents may also contact the applicable federal or provincial privacy regulator, and U.S. residents may contact their state regulator.

Essential storage supports sign-in, security, payments, and saved cookie preferences and cannot be disabled through our controls. Optional analytics storage remains off unless allowed. Use Cookie settings in the footer to review or change the choice at any time. Browser settings can also block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect essential site functions.

We may update this policy to reflect changes to ChoreHero, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the revised policy and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent when required by law.
